Twitch streaming service to add subscription option to new apps
The new Twitch streaming app, available for free on the App Store and Google Play, will be available on new devices starting on Friday, according to a post on the Twitch website.
The app will also include a subscription option that allows users to add additional content to their stream, such as video game commentary and music tracks, to keep the subscription free.
Twitch said that in addition to its existing content, the app will be capable of displaying news, weather, and sports scores.
The app will feature a player interface that’s similar to the one that’s already available on Twitch’s main app.
Twist’s announcement comes a week after Amazon announced that it would offer an ad-free version of its Alexa platform.
Amazon announced its own Alexa platform in October and has already launched a number of services to help users learn more about Alexa.
